What is the phone number for Massachusetts unemployment?

Most of a claim runs through your own Unemployment Services for Workers account, and in-person help with a claim is by appointment. DUA keeps separate lines for filing, for requesting weekly benefits, and for answering its questions, so the number you want depends on what you are doing.

Which DUA line to call

Callers who are deaf or hard of hearing reach the Department through the voice relay service on 711, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The TeleCert Line takes the weekly request itself, and filing your weekly claim covers what DUA asks you each week. The fact-finding number is for answering a DUA request for information about your claim, and that request also lands in the Action Center of your online account, where you can upload what it asks for from a phone or a computer.

Nobody answers the Call Center on a Friday. DUA stopped taking Friday calls in August 2025 so agents could process applications, and its online services stay open Monday through Friday. A Friday call that goes unanswered does not mean you have the wrong number.

Help in Spanish and other languages

Translation services for a claim are available by phone on (877) 626-6800, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Thursday, or in person by appointment. Multilingual agents work the Call Center itself, so this is the same number a caller uses for anything else about a claim.

Phone numbers for an appeal

Appeals are heard by the DUA Hearings Department, which runs regional offices across the state.

The Board of Review, which takes an appeal against a hearings decision, answers on (617) 626-6400. Deadlines and the addresses for a written appeal are on denials, appeals, and overpayments.

Seeing someone in person

DUA sees claimants at the Boston Re-Employment Center, 2 Avenue de Lafayette, Boston, MA 02111, where appointments run Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
